Mapping the site

The biggest problem with using Google Sites to save an at risk site is the size of the site. Google Sites is great for relatively simple sites with a smaller number of pages. This site is much larger around 900 individual pages and has been built up over time.

To get a sense of the problem and to find out whether there are multiple copies of the same pages and what needs to be replicated and what does. A graphical mapping tool has been used  the 30day trial version of Powermapper (http://www.powermapper.com/download/mapper/download.htm).
It has revealed the site complexity of the site and the sites structure.

This work has been supported by funding from JISC. The site can be viewed at https://sites.google.com/site/emknorg/ or http://www.web-sustainablity.net/emkn/
